Stained Glass Course - Multi Ability - June
5 Weeks of Thursdays Begins 5th June 2025
Over the five weeks of this course beginner stained glass students will learn the traditional techniques necessary to craft a stained glass panel. The course begins with a brief overview of safety measures and students will gain confidence in glass cutting and tool usage. You will be taught how to draw the cartoon for your design. You will cut and grind the glass pieces to fit together. Think jigsaw with lead framework. You will then assemble the glass and lead followed by soldering the joints. Finally you will cement your panel and clean it up.
Students will need to provide their own glass consumables and basic hand tools. The first lesson will outline exactly what you need to purchase and where from. Beginners please bring am A3 size 3mm sheet of glass to learn how to cut glass.
Returning students are welcome to work on self initiated projects and will receive additional tutoring on developing their technical skills, glass painting, etching, sandblasting and copper foil techniques.
Coffee tea biscuits are provided. There is on site parking.
